CITY WATERCOLORS
2013
This project was my means of reconciliation with watercolor, a medium I've had much difficulty with. The variety I saw in San Francisco's architecture encouraged me to experiment with how I painted, introducing the diversity of aesthetic effects and unique portrayal of light available through watercolor. Though I had the most success drawing pen outlines first, I made an effort to expand my work beyond the easy control of pens and had a pass at achieving similar intentionality in non-outlined areas.
